About Us
In 1984 Eric Nikolai worked the evening shift as a direct care professional for a local human service agency. Many times his relief staff either
showed up late or not at all. At that time there were few alternatives. He could call the one or two phone numbers on the kitchen bulletin board and hope someone could come in OR stay and work the
overnight shift as well. Unfortunately this happened too many times. This forced Eric to come up with a novel idea at the time... start of temporary service specializing in Human Services and Social
Services.
In 1985, Social Service Network was born. Our research at the time indicated that there wasn't another service of its kind in the nation. Over the
years, Social Service Network has enjoyed working with many clients throughout the Twin Cities Metropolitan Minnesota area. These clients were and are hospitals, clinics, support groups, residential
programs and day treatment centers.
In 1987 we expanded into the child care field with the addition of our other division, Child Care Subs. Child Care Subs provides and continues to
provide temporary quality staff to local child care centers of all sizes.
In 1999 we entered the Internet with our informational web site.
2004 As a hobby, began to post job opportunities for related companies and also post resumes for job seekers in a text only method.
2005 Purchased and modified a job board program allowing employers to post job opportunities immediately.
2006 Due to several requests, we added sample resumes, job descriptions and examples of how to prepare for an interview.
2006 Implemented new significantly upgraded job board with many new features.
2007 National job board is currently being used by hundreds of companies and job seekers... and growing fast.
2007 Fall. Added www.Carecloseby.com A database consisting of thousands of related companies nationwide.
